Audience Survey Results
These are the results we received from the audience.
Ignoring the results which aren't serious, we found that the majority of people preferred Horror and Comedy based films, which is also reflected in the favourite films. 'Jurassic Park' and 'World War Z' are both well-known Thriller films, which aids us in deciding what is best suited for our film.
The majority of people who answered were between the ages of 16 and 18, which also helps us decide our target demographic.
What people like about Thriller films is the suspense that they build up, which means that to receive good audience feedback, we need to include scenes and a story which build up tension. Jumpy parts and 'thrills' were also popular responses. It's a thing to consider adding when we want to widen our audience.
Audience Survey
This is a screenshot of our survey. We selected our questions to find out what the preferred genres are for each gender and age group. This will aid is in finding our key demographic when creating our film, and when finding out who will our film be watched by.

Recce Shots
These are possible locations for our film to take place. We selected these rooms to mimic a larger police station and the possible rooms that may be in it.
The classroom would emulate a potential boardroom for a department in a police station (i.e. homicide or arson) and could be used effectively in such a manner (if necessary). The tables, computers, files and a board as a focal point could potentially be used in a police situation.
The photos featuring the common room, corridors and staircase could represent an older section of the building, which police stations often feature. It also adds to the serious tone of the film, and looks professional.
The exterior of the building is a suitable choice as it adds a modern contrast to the the interior, it also has a layout which may be ideal for police officers to operate.

Storyboard
This is the storyboard for our film 'Impression'. These are our ideas of what the scene will look like through the camera.
Our film has changed since then, we have also renamed it 'In The Dark'. After we filmed Impression, we were unsatisfied with the turnout, so we tried adding more footage and scenes to increase the tension, but found that to also be unsuccessful. We ultimately decided to start again on our film and create something new, with more tense scenes and a wider variety of shots and a different location. We feel the new film 'In The Dark' turned out significantly better than our previous one.

Broken Glass Productions Logo
This is our design for our company logo. We chose the name 'Broken Glass' as it implies danger and destruction, both staples of thriller genre. We edited some cracks onto a darkened eye, so it looks like the eye is broken, which is a creepy and surreal image, much like the film our studio would produce.
Firstly, I sampled a picture of an eye and also some cracked glass. I then used Photoshop to layer them across each other. Next, I used the art history brush to add a liquid effect to the skin around the eye, whilst leaving the actual eye alone. I then adjusted the hue/saturation and filters on the cracks to blend it into the eye, creating the illusion that it is cracked. I then typed the name of the company and positioned it beneath the eye. I adjusted the filters to make it seem more like glass.

A man searching for his dog on the beach comes across the
murder victim (Tyler)
Paul: (shouting)
Buster? Buster!? Whistles (walks
towards the dead body)
Camera shows a figure
on the ground. Paul walks swiftly towards the figure. Camera pans down slowly
as Paul gets closer to the figure to reveal it being a dead body.
White out then fade
back to the police investigating the scene
Lee: Any details?
Officer 1: Early 20’s, throat has been sliced, no signs of
struggle, been dead around 4 – 5 hours. Detectives are being lead over to the body
Eric: You got a name?
Officer 1: The vic’s been ID’d as Maia Fort. I’ve sent some
of our officers to talk to the family.
Lee crouches down to
inspect the body
Lee: Clean cut to the throat…
Eric: Died in a matter of seconds’ walks off to investigate the scene
Lee: Yeah… and it looks professional. Very clean… He knows
what he’s doing. Turns to the officer
Found any sort of evidence?
Officer 1: We’ve scoured the place, nothing.
Eric: (off shot) So your boys didn’t find this?
Low angle camera shot
showing Eric looking at the newly discovered evidence. Lee and the officer walk
into frame.
Officer 1: Uh… no… What is that?
Cut to sticks layed
out to spell out “Jack did it”
Lee: Who’s Jack?
Eric: I dunno… We should get this back to the lab for
prints.
Officer takes a
picture of the evidence and then the scene changes to an office room. The
detectives are there, looking at a board with photographs of other murders,
looking tired, coffee on the table, ties loosened and hair roughed up.
Lee: It could be possible that they’re connected?
Eric: Yeah sure, they’re all dead, well done. Gold star for
Lee.
Lee: No listen, our first victim was Elaine Forrest. She was
bound, tortured then strangled in her own home, right?
Eric nods but still
looks puzzled
Lee: That kill closely follows the MO of BTK. Our second
victim, Jayce Yun, was found in an abandoned building with evidence of
mutilation, rape and possible cannibalism.
Eric: Yeah I remember, he had his toes bit off lightly chuckles
Lee: I don’t understand what’s so funny but this kill
follows that of Jeffery Dahmer. You starting to see a pattern here?
Eric: Okay so they’re both in their 20’s? We have a part of
a profile? No wait there’s the little girl, Laura Maine…
Lee: Disappeared last year then turns up in the woods, raped
and been a victim to cannibalism.
Eric: That doesn’t fit…
Lee: In fact, it fits perfectly. He’s recreating kills from
infamous serial killers. BTK, Jeffery Dahmer and-
Eric: Albert Fish! Eric
looks proud with his input
Lee: And now, Jack the Ripper.
Eric: Maia must’ve been some sort of call girl
Cuts to a re-enactment
of the events leading to Maia’s death
Lee: Picked up by a client, that explains why there’s no
signs of struggle, it’s routine to go to a secluded area for this kind of
thing.
Eric: Ah yes, you being the expert on hookers
Lee: I watch documentaries, sometimes this kind of thing
comes up, that hardly makes me an expert on picking up prostitutes… Back to the
point, we’ve got a copycat killer.
This is the first plan of our script. We chose the dialogue in order to define each character. Our idea was to make the character of Eric to seem cocky and arrogant, while contrasting the character of Lee who isn't either, but he is socially inept.
*FOOTNOTE*
This is the script of our original film, which we decided to discontinue. There is new dialogue in our film which is not scripted on here.
